Beginning in 1919, the annual Thanksgiving Food & Flower Sale was held at the church on the Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving. It was a community event organized by volunteers to benefit the church’s outreach program. We proudly celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019.
In 2020 when COVID restrictions limited in-person events, we became a “Phantom” virtual fair, sending out our familiar orange flyer in early November asking for the continued support of the congregation and community.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the proceeds of the fair are directed to the Brookline Food Pantry and the Centre Street Food Pantry in Newton. Both pantries have been challenged by the huge increase of families in need during the pandemic.
