Weddings at First Church – Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can anyone get married at the church?
Yes! We welcome couples of any gender, language and expression who are seeking a sacred space to celebrate their commitment. You do not need to be a member of the church, but we do ask that at least one conversation take place with our minister to ensure the ceremony aligns with the spirit of our community.
2. What kind of weddings can take place here?
We host weddings in the Christian, Unitarian Universalist, or interfaith spectrum with the condition that they honor the sacred character of the space.
3. Is a minister required?
Yes. Our minister Mark Caggiano must officiate, co-officiate with the minister that will preside the ceremony. This ensures the ceremony respects the spiritual identity of the congregation and the pastoral care of the couple.
4. What spaces are available?
-
Sanctuary (for the ceremony)
-
Parish Hall (for receptions, optional)
-
Kitchen access (with prior approval)
We are happy to schedule a walkthrough so you can imagine your day in the space.

Fees vary depending on:
-
Use of sanctuary only or sanctuary + hall

-
Music (organist, music director, outside musicians)

6. Can we bring our own musicians or vendors?
Yes, with prior approval of our Music Director.
7. Are there restrictions?
To preserve the building and ensure safety:
-
No open flames (except approved altar candles)

Dates are secured once:

A facilities agreement is signed
-
A deposit is received
