So what does real, Christ-shaped leadership look like? Not manipulation. Not fear. Not doom or fear. Leadership comes from the old English “to go with,” “to go ahead as a guide.” And Jesus turns that upside down. In Mark he says, “Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all.” In Luke he teaches us to take the lowest seat at the banquet. For Jesus, leadership is not power. Leadership is service.
